Features Dalbergia ID
Application to identify Dalbergia cochinchinensis Pierre and Rosewood (Dalbergia oliveri Gamble ex Prain) species was developed by the Center for Nature Conservation and Development under the support of the project "Strengthening management and conservation of Zebra species and Rosewood in Vietnam” funded by the European Union through the CITES Timber Species Programme.
The application was developed with the purpose of supporting management agencies, law enforcement officers and technical officers operating in the fields of nature conservation, forestry and law enforcement for reference.
to identify the trees and wood of these two species.This application helps identify two species of Rosewood and Rosewood based on basic morphological characteristics of leaves, flowers, fruits and gross structural features of the wood of two species of Rosewood and Rosewood.
The described characteristics can be observed with the naked eye or through hand-held magnifying glasses.
The illustrations used in the Application are all taken in the field, are realistic, and are selected to display in the most basic way the typical characteristics to identify these two species in the field.We hope that the Application will support users in the management and monitoring of exploitation and trade activities for this group of wood; as well as supporting law enforcement to preserve and develop the two endangered and rare wood species mentioned above in Vietnam.
